5-Free Principle making it safe for pregnancy
SpaRitual Nail Lacquers are free of Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, Formaldehyde (including Formaldehyde Resin) and Camphor.
- Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), is a plasticizing ingredient that is banned for use in cosmetic products in the European Union. DBP is a potential developmental and reproductive toxin that may cause a broad range of birth defects.
- Formaldehyde Resin is a form of preservative that allows lacquer to properly adhere to the nail. Formaldehyde is also prevalent, often at much larger levels, in soft drinks, carpeting, paints and permanent press fabrics.
- Toluene is a solvent that interacts with lacquer resins, and then evaporates. Exposure to Toluene levels in the air may be hazardous to both the spa and the spa consumer.
- Camphor is widely used in nasal inhalers and muscle rubs, but ingestion can cause child fatal and damage to kidney and brain.
